फिल्मकार एस. एस. राजामौली की फिल्म 'बाहुबली' बॉक्स ऑफिस पर नौ दिनों के अंदर 300 करोड़ रुपये का आंकड़ा पार करने वाली पहली दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्म बन गई है. इसने सुपरस्टार रजनीकांत की फिल्म 'एंथिरन' का रिकॉर्ड तोड़ दिया है, जिसने लगभग 290 करोड़ रुपये की कमाई का रिकॉर्ड बनाया था.

व्यापार विश्लेषक त्रिनाथ ने बताया, 'शनिवार तक फिल्म की कमाई दुनियाभर में 303 करोड़ रुपये हो चुकी थी.'

उन्होंने कहा, 'फिल्म के हिंदी संस्करण ने 50 करोड़ रुपये कमाए और डब फिल्मों की कमाई के क्षेत्र में नया रिकॉर्ड बनाया. यहां तक कि बीते शुक्रवार सुपरस्टार सलमान खान की 'बजरंगी भाईजान' के रिलीज से भी फिल्म की कमाई में कोई खास फर्क नहीं पड़ा.'

दो भाइयों के बीच राजपाट पर अधिकार के संघर्ष पर आधारित 250 करोड़ रुपये के विशाल बजट वाली फिल्म में प्रभाष, राणा डग्गुबाती, अनुष्का शेट्टी और तमन्ना भाटिया ने मुख्य भूमिकाएं निभाई हैं.

मेरठ में बिग बॉस की तर्ज पर एक रियलिटी शो का आयोजन किया जा रहा है. एक घर जिसमें चारो तरफ कैमरे लगे हुए हैं. फर्क सिर्फ इतना है कि इस घर में लोगों झगड़े नहीं विज्ञान के प्रयोग देखने को मिलेंगे. यहां देश भर से चुने हुए विज्ञान के छात्र 10 दिनों तक रहेंगे और अलग-अलग प्रयोगों के माध्यम से काफी कुछ जानेंगे.

यह अनूठी पहल की है मेरठ के जिला विज्ञान क्लब एवं प्रगति विज्ञान संस्था और प्रोद्योगिकी परिषद लखनऊ ने. जिस घर में ये बच्चे रहेंगे उसे विज्ञान घर का नाम दिया गया है. इस घर को जिले के ट्रांस्लम स्कूल में तैयार किया गया है. सोमवार को प्रदेश कैबिनेट मंत्री मनोज सिन्हा ने विज्ञान घर का उद्घाटन किया. उन्होंने इसे एक अच्छी पहल बताया. सिन्हा ने कहा, 'हमें उम्मीद है यह अनूठी पहल कामयाब रहेगी और अगले साल और भी बड़े स्तर पर आयोजित होगी.'

इस विज्ञान घर को साइंस से संबंधित कई मॉडल्स से सजाया गया है. इस घर में रहने के लिए देश भर से 20 छात्रों का चयन किया गया है. अब ये छात्र अगले 10 दिनों तक कैमरों की निगरानी में इस घर में रहेंगे. इस कार्यक्रम में शामिल हो रहे छात्र भी काफी उत्साहित हैं. उन्हें उम्मीद है यह विज्ञान घर उन्हें काफी कुछ सिखाएगा. आयोजकों ने उम्मीद जताई है कि यह पहल कामयाब रहेगी.

STORY: Raghu's (Varun Dhawan) indefectible life is devastated, when a robbery episode kills his wife and son. The culprit Liak (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) refuses to let out the truth and is imprisoned for 20 years. Refusing to move on, Raghu harbours in him the tryst for truth. Can he avenge the deaths of people who meant the world to him? And, is being devoured by the feeling of revenge as gratifying as his volcanic rage had promised?

REVIEW: Badlapur is a gobsmacking movie that suffuses on screen - a deftly written story, spectacular performances and an intelligently layered screenplay. What works best here is the film's unpredictability. From the minute it begins, you're latched to your seat with your heart throbbing in your mouth and your throat frequently choking up. For the sheer impact the movie conjures up, writer-director Sriram Raghavan deserves a bow!

Mixing grit and suspense in the right measure, Sriram allows his film to take the risky path in keeping you invested, ably playing his motley bunch of characters. While the layers smoothly unfold in this vendetta affair, Raghavan's clarity of vision keeps the narrative seamless. The wicked humour sprinkled abruptly in the sequences draws one further into this movie. The excessive gore might be considered superfluous but is vital for the impact it has.

The driving force here are the actors who evolve the story. Varun's measured acting and sincere eyes draw empathy. With each scene, the intense hues he brings to Raghu, unravel. Nawaz is superlative as Liak, bringing a sinful streak of twisted comedy, teaming it with unabashed swagger. The ladies deliver adequately, but it's Huma Qureshi who brings more to her role than what it holds.

Though the film's second hour meanders and is a tad long, the compelling climax and memorable scenes, like the one where Liak reveals the truth that Raghu had desperately been seeking, trivializes these flaws. Added to it, Sachin-Jigar's haunting music adds a piercing quality.

Brisk and absorbing, concluding differently than expected, Badlapur is an inspired film that dangerously attempts to change the landscape of the thriller genre in Bollywood.

Munni' Booked In The Guinness Book Of World Records

" Munni Badnaam Hui" has entered the Guinness Book of World Records. Over 1200 people danced for three minutes on the song, led by Malaika Arora Khan, in Melbourne, Australia .

The event was organised by Indian Film Festival 2011 director Mitu Bhowmick Lange. Malaika also received a certificate for setting the record. The earlier record was set in Singapore when over 1008 people danced on a song.

Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora are in Melbourne for the Indian Film Festival as Dabangg was screened on the opening night.

Over the weekend, an attempt was made to break the world record for the largest number of people who danced to a song doing the same steps together at a public place.

Over 1,200 people danced to 'Munni Badnaam Hui' at the Melbourne Park beating the earlier record, set in Singapore when 1,008 people danced in public.

The Guinness Book adjudicators were present. Says Malaika, "The Guinness people were very strict with the rules."
